"The Joshua Tree Party House Where Olive Oil is the Drink of Choice"

Wonder Valley Bon Appetit

This past April, we opened up the doors to our newly remodeled Joshua Tree homestead cabin to host a group of desert friends and the staff of Bon Appetit Magazine for a weekend long party.

We had just finished building the outdoor kitchen, a big handmade wood burning grill set up. We took everyone for cocktail hike into the boulders behind our home, a dip in the best cowboy pool in the high desert, and back in time for sunset supper. Most of the meal was cooked over the fire, heavy handed on the W.V. olive oil.  And Leslie Stevens serenaded us around the firepit after dinner in the glow of the bronco headlights.
